At the outset, I extend a warm welcome to all the delegates including my professional colleagues from across the globe. It’s a pleasure to have you with us on the occasion of ICAI’s International Conference – Jnana Yajna – The Quest for Excellence from 22 – 23 October 2016 in Hyderabad.
I am especially thankful to my fellow colleagues from Confederation of Asia – Pacific Accountants (CAPA) for giving privilege to host the CAPA meetings at Hyderabad and making this International Conference truly global.
The Accountancy Profession must evolve with the changing times and stimulate its intellectual curiosity by learning, unlearning and relearning the developing regulatory standards, market trends and best practices, to vigorously pursue its mandate of being Trustee of Public Interest. With this intent the International Conference was conceptualized as ‘Progress/Development through Knowledge’ i.e. Jnana Yajna – to be our Sojourn to introspect and retrospect to serve its mandate of Public Interest, and learn newer perspectives for leaping ahead with dexterity to thrive in the ever evolving work place.
The International Conference will be a congregation of Intellectuals cerebrating new thought leadership in areas of Governance, Standards Setting, Financial Reporting, Regulatory/Societal expectations, technological evolutions to augment growth for meeting aspirations of society at large. The instant International Conference would be an apt platform for ideas exchange and interactive dialogues amongst the global and local accounting fraternity for espousing public interest.
The International Conference is “Glimpse of Future” to acclimatize the accounting fraternity to demands of a market driven economy; while being the Trustee of Public Interest and is a “must attend” for all who wish to create a mark for them in times to change.
I am sure this International Conference will push our horizons beyond professional mandate and all the delegates will surely learn newer perspectives.
I wish the International Conference a grand Success.
